When you enter the world of Grand Fantasia, you begin your journey as a Novice on Siwa Island. This is where you begin your training as a Sprite Messenger! While this small island paradise is perfect place to learn the basics, eventually you will move on to greater things and advanced classes.
Quests:
Your journey continues through Siwa Island's quests. The friendly NPCs will show a book above their heads (and on the map and minimap) when they have a quest waiting for you, and once you have completed the quest requirements they will show a reward icon.
Novices advance to the first class branch at level 5. Once you've moved off the island, you can also advance your class further at levels 15, 30 and 65.
Important!
You must choose a class at the advancement levels in order to gain experience past that level! See the Class Master in any city for details on how to advance.
CHARACTER CLASSES
Fighters are known for their strength and power, and are able to use a wide variety of combat weapons.
Quest Target: Royal Lieutenant Jessica (Kaslow 65, 250)
Paladins: Healing and Defense.
Berserkers: Lethal Fighting Skills.
Advantages
- Perfect Tank: Extremely high HP and defense, resilient against physical attacks
- Skill Variety: Paladin skills contain healing spells, buffs and attacks, giving Paladin some versatility
- Arena Prowess: Strong PvP class due to large number of defensive self buffs
- Vital to Parties: Always needed for dungeons and bosses, because they have malice skills to keep boss and mob aggression.
- Healing Ability: Good healing ability for self healing
- Survival Ability: Able to solo dungeons only slightly below their level.
Disadvantages
- Comparatively Low Damage: Weak attack compared with other DPS classes.
- Kills Slowly: Has a hard time killing others in the arena until higher levels (60+).
- Magic Defense: Unless properly talented, naturally has very low magic defense.
Advantages
- Good Defense - As a Berserker, you have the third highest defense stat in the game. You not only do damage like a champ, but you take it just as well.
- Primary Damage Dealer (DD/DPS) wanted for dungeons - Because of the fact that you can drain a bosses MP, and other DDs can not, makes you an invaluable DD for dungeons. You also have a stun that can actually stun bosses, unlike most class's stuns.
- Weapon Variance - Berserkers can use almost any weapon in the game, so you can try many different weapon types out, and put different combos together. They also have the ability to dual wield weapons at lvl 31 with the "dual wield" talent
- Fast killer - With the right set up, you can take an enemy down in a matter of 2 hits
- Many AOEs - You have a total of 4 Area of effect attacks, two take charges though.
Disadvantages
- Lack of range skills - Not a big deal, but in pve, you either have to walk up to the enemy, shoot them once, or bull charge them to close the distance between you and them.
- Doesn't get good until later - At level 31, Berserkers are pretty underwhelming in both pvp, and pve. They don't kill very fast at first, and they need to pot quite often.
- Lack of MP without legacy Armor - later on, skills eat up about 100mp per use. Average mp of Berserkers is only about 1.7k.
Hunters are masters of ranged attacks, able to use swords, bows, and guns.
Quest Target: Stan (Jale 120, 150)
Rangers: Increased Ranged Attack Power.
Assassins: Brutal Melee Combat.
Sprites
- Rangers require sprites that craft bows, swords, firearms and archer armor.
Advantages
- Long Range - Rangers are able to hit enemies from afar without taking damage.
- High Critical Hit Rate - Rangers have one of the highest critical hit rates in the game.
- Dual Wield - They can equip two one handed weapons, giving them versatility of weapons.
- Summon - Rangers have the ability to summon a Shadow Panther to fight alongside them. This summon takes damage for the Ranger while inflicting a large amount of damage on the opponent.
- Attack Speed - They have an extremely high rate of attacks per second, (if they're equipped correctly).
- Stealth - They have high evasion and have the ability to become invisible just before a battle begins, giving them first attack advantage.
- * Note: The skill for invisibility cannot be activated once battles commences.
- Teleport - Rangers have the ability to teleport away from the enemy when under threat of close range attack.
- Solo Bosses - Rangers are able to stun lock bosses leaving them completely defenseless.
- *Note: A Ranger's stun does not work on dungeon or world bosses.
Disadvantages
- Low HP - They have low HP, and apart from HP pots and health draining effects from certain weapons, rangers have no way to heal.
- Low Defence - Rangers have fairly low defense compared to other classes, but this is somewhat compensated for by their high evasion.
- Low Close Range attack - Although Rangers have high long range damage their close range damage suffers greatly.
Advantages
- Damage - Assassins can deal large amount of damage in short time.
- Evasion - They have more evasion than any other class.
- Critical attack rate - They have higher critical attack rate compared to a lot of other class.
- Stealth - Assassins can become invisible, both outside and during battle.
- Dual Wield - They can equip two one handed weapons.
- Ranged Weapons - They can also use bows and guns.
Disadvantages
- Lack of Heals - Beside HP Potions and Life drain effect on weapons, Assassins have no other methods of healing.
- Low HP - Assassins have a low amount of Max Health Points.
- Defense - Assassins have very low defence, so they are very vulnerable when attacked.
